Like most men, I'm deeply complex. I live my values and show up to my responsibilities. I am comfortable with my internal contradictions and am proud to be constantly evolving. I enjoy strength training, grilling in my backyard, H.I.I.T., and am an amateur mycologist. Recently, I started gardening, and journal regularly.
To join my private community of men who thrive, contact me. In it you'll find a supportive space where men and our allies come together to master emotional intelligence, fortify mental strength, and deepen introspection, so that we can lead with clarity, cultivate meaningful relationships, and unlock greater success in all areas of life.

A critical ethnographer, I employ liberatory theories of gender, race, and class to unearth connections between lived experiences and structures of power. My scholarship disrupts pathologizing narratives by employing inclusive epistemologies that amplify subjugated knowledges. Click below to learn more about my work as an author.
With 10+ years teaching experience at diverse urban universities, I am dedicated to responding to distinct learning needs to achieve equitable success outcomes. I view human differences—demographic as well as psychographic differences—as valuable resources for higher education. Click below to learn more about my work as a professor.
Launching Fall 2025 with intentions to fill knowledge gaps by employing a community-engaged research design, the Oral Histories of Mass Incarceration project will help shed light on the origins and functions of inequality and exclusion, as well as the levels that they persist in the present period. Click below to learn more about my work as a co-director.
I post thought pieces on mental strength and emotional intelligence with the goal of improving men’s mental health.
I create short-form videos to encourage and uplift men through challenging times and feelings of isolation.
I empower students from historically excluded populations to be active contributors to professional discourse.
